Llew is from Hong Kong. His dad, also Mr. Leo Goodstadt is Welsh from Tenby. He is a Welsh speaker. Leo's mum, Mrs Rose Yin-Chee Young Goodstadt is Chinese from Hong Kong. They met in Oxford and Mr. Goodstadt flew all the way to Hong Kong to marry her!  Llew's sister, Patricia, is currently living in Boston, America. Llew has a large extended family scattered all over the world. His uncles and aunties, and first cousins can be found all over the world, from Hong Kong to Singapore, Connecticut and Texas, USA to London and New Zealand. On his Chinese side, even second and third cousins, once or twice removed are considered close kin and they are too numerous to count. Llew has grand-nephews who are older than he is!

Monica was born in Vitoria, in Gasteiz, the Basque country in Spain but her father Mr. Pedro Mate Diez comes from Valladolid in Castilla. He met Mrs. Enid Linda Arnall in Tiptree (England), picking strawberries for the famous Tiptrees jam. Monica's younger brother Daniel lives in Madrid but somehow has more than a hint of cockney in his accent! All four generations of Monica's Spanish family live around Valladolid: grandparents (Sr y Sra Mate), uncles, aunts, cousins and nephews. On the Welsh side of her family, Monica's grandparents, the late Mr. & Mrs. Arnall are buried in Llanafan, a small village near Aberystwyth. The brother of Monica's mother lives in London with his family.
